This reproduction of Motor #1 was necessary because of all the Rio Grande Southern motors (geese) it is the only one to not survive intact to the end of the
RGS. This book shows the excellent work of Karl Schaeffer who built it and then donated it to the Ridgway Railroad Museum in Ridgway, CO.
The photos in this book show it fully inside and out and even underneath well
enough that they were used by model manufacturer Bachmann as the sole basis
for their group of units in numerous scales. With this book you can add what they
left out or create one of your own to even higher levels of detail and fidelity.
