Our Quick Pic Book series shows the subjects in extensive black & white photographs which have often been digitally edited to best exhibit the details.
This volume shows all the details on these three cars but focuses on the Rotary
snow plow. There are vintage photos showing it in the earlier paint scheme as well
as all of the interior and exterior photos anyone would need to recreate a museum quality model of it. The entire mechanism and linkages are shown inside and out of
the carbody as well as an entire chapter devoted to just the rotary blade and
shroud itself. The Rotary uses an excessive amount of water compared to a regular locomotive so there were auxiliary water cars that traveled along with it. Originally they used tenders of scrapped locos but later they began using highly modified former UTLX narrow frame tank cars. All the details of these cars is shown
along with a ruler in many of the photos to help recreate these unusual cars.
