This volume shows the details on these cars including the trucks & underframe
of the sole surviving one on display at the time of this writing. Due to
ongoing question about measurements, in many photos a ruler is present.
These cars were rebuilt from the original Class 1 cars in roughly 1904 to comply
with the Safety Appliances Act. Though on quick glance it appears to be the same
as all of the other short 8 wheel cabooses, this one in fact is different both in length as well as being 6 inches wider than the Class 2 cars. This book shows DRGW Caboose 0524 inside and out and underneath. It is the sole surviving member of this class and is part of the collection at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, CO.
