This book contains both the Freight Cars of 1947 AND the Passenger Cars of 1954
in one book. The post war years were times for America's railroads to
rebuild after the 24/7 operations supporting the war efforts. While
some of the equipment is even pre war vintage in these books, much
had been rebuilt or even replaced in main line service by this time.
These drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could
recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing
This book has 90 pages with 88 folios & tables.
