These include many of the cars still on the property when the C&EI became
part of the Missouri Pacific in 1967. The MoPac had started to buy up shares
of the C&EI in 1961 so this set is especially important because it shows exactly
what the MoPac was buying in addition to the physical plant of the road.
The equipment runs the gamut from side door cabooses and 1926 outside braced boxcars of the 500 series built in 1926, all the way up to the brand new
Fruit Growers Express Bunkerless Reefers built in 1960 leased to the C&EI.
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee
could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service.
